New Families: How to apply

Thank you for your interest in Dragonfly! You are considering a life changing, incredibly rewarding Early Childhood experience for your child.

  1. For new inquiries, please complete the following TWO form links:

Inquiry form for our Office admin team to have your contact information (through our ChildPilot software)

AND please submit this Enrollment Application for us to get to know your family

  2. Once we’ve received both your inquiry and your Enrollment Application, our Office team will contact you to follow up. At this time, the Office will schedule a tour for your family to come see Dragonfly. The tour is a time for you to ask any questions you may have, and for us to meet you as well. If you’re not local, let’s talk on the phone!

  3. There will be another step in the Application process if your family will be seeking financial assistance for tuition. The application for Assistance is due May 15th each year. If you are applying to Dragonfly after that date, the Application is due at the time of your Admissions Inquiry.

  4. Once your family has decided to move forward with the Enrollment process, you will receive an invitation from our ChildPilot communications software to set up your parent portal.

Through this ChildPilot software, you will also receive an invoice for our $250 non-refundable deposit, which officially holds your child’s place in the class (this will be converted into the Teachers’ art supply budget for the year). Please note, this deposit is non-refundable.

  5. All enrollment forms are due before the start of school in September. Starting July 1st of every year, parents will complete/update all annual required Enrollment documentation. In the ChildPilot parent portal, there is a Documents tab where parents can find the required documentation: Enrollment Record, Health Forms, and Immunization/Immunization Exemption forms.

    Welcome to Dragonfly!

Current Families:

  1. Contact the Office to let us know that you would like your child(ren) to return next school year! The Director will reach out to confirm enrollment.

  2. Starting in May, returning families may put down the annual $250 non-refundable deposit to hold the child’s place in the class (This will be converted into the art supply fee for the year).

  3. Annually, Enrollment forms are due before the start of school in September. Starting July 1st of every year, returning families will complete/update all the annual required Enrollment documentation. In the ChildPilot parent portal, there is a Documents tab where parents can find the required documentation: Enrollment Record, Health Forms, and Immunization/Immunization Exemption forms.

  4. Families seeking Tuition Assistance are required to reapply every year, due by May 15th.

We’re glad your child will be staying with us!

To be added to our wait list:

Even if our classrooms are full, we encourage all families to Inquire regardless, to get into our childcare management system. Our Waitlist is maintained in ChildPilot, with notes and placements that carry over year to year. Please submit an inquiry form here, and we’ll be in touch!

If your child is too young for our programs currently, and you want to be on our waitlist, please also submit an inquiry form — here! We’ll be in touch, and we look forward to your family joining us in time.

Admissions policies and awareness:

  • The Mancos Valley Dragonfly School welcomes children of any background, race, religion, gender, or national origin.

  • Vaccination Status: We accept unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and fully vaccinated children into the program. All Teachers and Administrative Staff are trained in first aid.

  • Neurodiversity and Disability in the Classroom: All children and their families shall receive equal opportunity and attention during the Admissions tour and process. Dragonfly School seeks to make every reasonable effort and accommodation for all children in our care. However, the school does not have the funding ability to offer one-on-one aides for children that need a higher level of support from teachers at all times. Our Teachers do not have thorough, specific training on developmental challenges and delays that may be needed with some children, so we must state that we are not able to admit all children here at Dragonfly.

  • For many more Policies and Procedures, please see our current Parent Handbook.
